Urban Intervention in Solidere – Martyrs’ Square

In this studio, we tackled the Solidere district at the heart of Beirut’s Martyrs’ Square, exploring urban-scale strategies to reconnect a city divided by its former Green Line. We analyzed pedestrian flows and historical layers, then proposed a network of corridors, sheltered plazas, and lightweight pedestrian bridges linking East and West Beirut. The masterplan was woven together through seamlessly fostering everyday unity and cultural exchange.
